5 ways to repurpose your podcast content


If you’re unfamiliar with the term, repurposing is when you use one piece of content in multiple ways. For example, your Facebook Live could be made into a podcast episode, a blog post, a few social media posts, etc.

This is a great way to not only save yourself some time but also increase your reach. By stretching your content across different mediums and platforms, you can reach more people and possibly build your podcast audience even more. The sky is the limit.

Your podcast episode took a lot of time to create, so why not make it worth your while! Here are some creative ways to repurpose your podcast content when you are short on time (or ideas!).

Create additional audiograms

Audiograms are clips from your podcast paired with a graphic that you can share on social media. Snag a 15-45 second clip from your show and use an audiogram creation tool, like Headliner, to put it all together. These are great for sharing on Instagram stories, Reels, or even as TikToks. You can also resize them and share them on your Instagram feed as well. This paired with a good hashtag strategy and you’re good to go!

Share your podcast on YouTube

In 2022, the number of people on YouTube is expected to hit around 210 million people. You don’t want to miss out on that! Sharing podcasts to this platform as well is growing in popularity for this reason. Take a video recording of you making your podcast or take your audio from the podcast and pair it with a graphic to make a video to share. This will get you in front of a whole new set of listeners.

Create a blog post

This is a simple and effective way to repurpose your podcast content and show notes. Simply take your show notes and expand upon them with the topics you discuss in the episode through another blog post. Afterward, share your new blog post across all of your social media accounts to spread the word. Make sure to link your podcast episode in the blog post! Share it as a newsletter

Email marketing is one of the best ways to connect with your audience and share what’s going on in your business. Why not send some emails based on your podcast episodes?! If the people on your list aren’t already podcast listeners, they could be after reading about it in their email. You can send an email recap or dive deep into the topic of the episode with an email series. Make sure to include links to resources and products mentioned in the episode to encourage your audience to take action.

Turn it into a live stream

When creating a new episode, you can start a live stream with your audience and speak directly to them. You can have them ask questions in the chatbox while you talk and have a Q&A session at the end that will add even more value to your listeners. This gives it an interactive element and more personal touch. Furthermore, after you record, you can take the video and post it on YouTube as well!
